Prep Step is designed to aid in rust removal and surface stabilization during hand tool or blast cleaning procedures.  This unique granular powder is mixed into hot water (max 150 degrees) and is ideal for high pressure chemical injection water or steam jenny blasting equipment where the primary water feed can be maintained at 120 to 150 degrees.  Rust removal and surface conditioning occurs quickly at these temperatures.  Prep Step can also be used after sand blasting to promote adhesion and improve the performance of Zero-Rust.

Before applying zero-rust paint you should remove all loose scale and powdery rust.  Zero Rust needs a solid foundation to bond to.  Hand tooling is generally adequate.
