Prep Step is designed to aid in rust removal and surface stabilization during hand tool or blast cleaning procedures.  This unique granular powder is mixed into hot water (max 150 degrees) and is ideal for high pressure chemical injection water or steam jenny blasting equipment where the primary water feed can be maintained at 120 to 150 degrees.  Rust removal and surface conditioning occurs quickly at these temperatures.  Prep Step can also be used after sand blasting to promote adhesion and improve the performance of Zero-Rust.

Yes you can use zero rust on new aluminum.  Just be sure you take care to clean the surface of any oils and mill scale.  You can use soap and water to for this.
